| Salt Quality for use in detergents |
- Salt should be white in colour as off-colour salt will have a negative impact on colour of final detergent colour.
- Narrow Particle size distribution is preferred as this gives dry-mix detergent powders go good powder flow properties.
- High assay salt is desirable as this results in salt of consistent quality due to absence of impurities/ unknowns.
- The Hygroscopic nature of salt arises out of its calcium and magnesium content
- Presence of insoluble in salt is undesirable as these impurities could adversely effect stability of sensitive ingredients in detergents.
